My friend was craving for Peranakan cuisine and hence the visit to Blue Ginger on her birthday!
It's tucked away in a shophouse on Tanjong Pagar road. The setting is warm and cosy. This place is ideal for gatherings or business meeting. The name Blue Ginger is derived from a key ingredient in Peranakan cooking known as Nam Kiong in Cantonese or Galangal in Malay.

We ordered a whole range of Peranakan dishes (Peranakan cuisine arose due to intermarriage between early Chinese settlers and indigenious Malay. The dishes tend to be rather spicy. The spicy prawns were good!
The dessert were authentic too! My friends really loved the chendol. Especially a must try for coconut lovers.
A plus is that they offer an endless flow of rice.
It's best to make a reservation before heading to Blue Ginger.
